DAVID LLOYD trained in advertising art before becoming a sequential artist in 1977. He was employed shortly afterwards by Marvel UK to draw the adventures of a character called Night Raven in a strip which became a style precursor to V For Vendetta, his most well-known work.
His other work includes Hellblazer, War Stories, Global Frequency, Aliens : Glass Corridor, The Territory, House of Mystery, and various short stories. He’s also worked for the European market, contributing to an Asterix tribute album; a collection of war memoirs, Words of Stars; and a limited-edition print, ‘The Prizefighter‘. His most substantial recent works are the acclaimed crime thriller, Kickback, and a book on Sao Paulo for a Brazilian publisher.
He’s currently helping to manage Cartoon Classroom – www.cartoonclassroom.co.uk – a website centralizing all information available on the study of cartooning and sequential art in the UK and Ireland, and is putting together a collection of his past short for publication in Italy under the title, Dark Matter.
Future plans include an online sequential art magazine; and an English-languge edition of his book on Sao Paulo.
