Avengers: The Origin (HC)

Joe Casey is back rewriting early adventures of the Avengers, this time visiting issue one of the Avengers. One needs to appreciate the rich stories and art told in the early comics. The early masters of comic book narrators, way back in the 60s used to produce a whole story in one issue whilst modern comics take a four/six issue run. This does not mean that there is something wrong with the 60s or the modern times but that a different approach is being taken in which characters and action is developed. This tale shows The Avengers, as they always have been, a team of different and conflicting characters. This retold history is revealed by simple and outstanding panels, painted by Phil Noto. Although nothing new was revealed this was a delightful read. A job well done from both artist and writer! If writers were given the opportunity to redo the early masterworks, how many issues would that take?
