John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad review by Raphael Borg

Hey, would you like to read an idea that was COMPLETELY misrepresented on screen that is politically charged and chock-full of well-rounded characters comprised of a menagerie of the worst the world has to offer?

John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad is EXACTLY that. It is absolutely befuddling how Warner Brothers completely missed what ultimately can best be defined as DC’s Expendables; deputised villains, scum and terrorists that can either die doing the most impossible missions for national security, or be held responsible as being what they are if failing to do so. The patsies, the fall guys, the ones with a bomb planted in their head if they go astray.

What is there not to love in that very idea??
More importantly, how on EARTH did they manage to completely miss that point on screen when the right components were present?

It is literally an anti-Avengers, anti-Justice League idea; indeed, what is evil? What is the nature of a villain? What is ethical about the way criminals are treated?

DEFINITELY a worthwhile read. #crowcomicreviews
