Born in Australia in 1985, Dean Fenech moved to Malta in 1994. He teaches Social Studies at a Maltese secondary school while also working as a comic creator.
His first graphic novel, Apocalypse Rocked – Part 1 (Issues 1–2), was released in 2011. The story, set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a virus, follows rock star superheroes. The series continued with Issues 3 and 4 (2013–2014), later combined as Apocalypse Rocked – Part 2.
His second series, Times are -a-changing (2015–2019), features three Maltese characters and their descendants across Maltese history, from Prehistory to a futuristic setting.
Dean currently writes L-Għalliema u l-Istudenti tal-Kulleġġ San Xi Ħadd, a comic strip in Sagħtar magazine.
He co-authored the textbook Studji Soċjali – Nifhmu l-Genn tas-Soċjetà and illustrated books like Għetiebi Mikula, From the Vortex, To the Vortex and Avventuri fil-Mellieħa.
A regular at Malta Comic Con, Dean also leads workshops and panels.
