Dave Kelly is executive editor of the world’s greatest illustrated fantasy magazine, Heavy Metal.
A few years back, he was a production executive for The 7th Floor, which produced The Cake Eaters starring Kristen Stewart, a film that helped her land the role in Twilight.
After that, he ran So What? Press. Its flagship title, Tales of the Night Watchman—about baristas who fight monsters—was nominated for two Ringo Awards in the Best Single Issue or Story category and almost became a TV show.
His current project, Heart & Sin, is about a retired porn star who becomes a bodyguard to a sex robot on a dystopian Mediterranean island in the near future. Joining him on this are Brett Hobson, Clare DeZutti, and DC Hopkins; the team who worked with him on the aforementioned award-nominated stories.
He hopes to someday host a cooking show with his buddy Chad. Or maybe just an eating show.
He splits his time between the US and Europe and has the broken suitcase wheels to prove it.
