Based in Leicestershire, England, Neil is a self-taught artist. Over several years, he has built a dedicated reputation within the independent publishing circuit by contributing distinct illustrations and sequential artwork to a broad range of publications. He has found that comic fans and small-press creators are often the best place to find creative inspiration.
Working primarily in comic illustration style that leans into bold, dark, and highly detailed inkwork his illustrations often blend elements of fantasy, sci-fi, horror and are mostly in a classic comic book aesthetic. The subjects he’s normally commissioned for are his own interpretations of iconic comic culture figures alongside original creature and character designs. Primarily working in ink, dip pens and fine-liners, Neil also enjoys working in multi media from acrylics to watercolours to pastels and pencils incorporating a lot of digital finish for art that goes to print.
He is still a part time/spare time artist but has had work published in various well known publications and even worked as part of a creative team that received two Eisner nominations!
If he’s not at the art table he’s usually with the wife and kids, running, cycling, walking the dog, traveling and drinking a nice ale or two with friends and family.
