Peter Anders Hvass is the Co-Founder and one of the driving forces behind Cyprus Comic Con, Cyprus’ largest pop culture convention and one of the region’s most ambitious fan events. What began as a passion project has grown into a major annual celebration of comics, cosplay, gaming, anime, film, music, wrestling, food, artists, makers and creative communities, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors each year.
A lifelong fan, organiser, host and professional chaos-herder, Peter has spent more than a decade helping build Cyprus Comic Con into a platform for creators, performers, international guests, local artists, community groups and fellow fans. His work spans guest relations, programming, partnerships, sponsorships, digital strategy, marketing, production, public speaking and the occasional emergency goblin-management situation.
Outside the convention world, Peter’s background is in software engineering, systems architecture, DevOps, business development and technology leadership. A graduate of Imperial College London, he has worked across technology, operations, strategy and creative industries, bringing together the deeply nerdy and the dangerously practical in equal measure.
As an invited guest at Malta Comic Con, Peter is excited to connect with fellow organisers, fans, artists and convention communities, exchange lessons and learnings with the Maltese scene, and celebrate the wonderfully strange, welcoming and international world that comic cons create.
He firmly believes conventions are more than events. They are meeting places for people who may have spent years feeling like the only one in the room, only to discover an entire hall full of their people.
