Brussels in Shorts aims at presenting Brussels with new stories. Ten of the entries will be selected and their creators commissioned to complete their stories on contemporary Brussels in the graphic novel genre.
– The authors selected will receive a fee and accommodation in Brussels during the creation stages.
– The Oogachtend publishing company will publish the winning stories in a (Dutch language) album.
November 20, 2013 is the deadline for applications to take part. A panel of experts will announce the winners on December 14, 2013, during the 20th edition of the Stripgidsfestival, the most important comics festival of Flanders. The selected winners will have the time until the end of June 2013 to deliver the completed story. They will be invited to stay in Brussels during Spring 2014.
