Chris Thompson is an Eisner Award-winning comics professional whose career has taken him across almost every corner of the industry – from retail and podcasting to publishing, editing, teaching, and international comics festivals.
With a long and respected history in the comics world, Chris Thompson has built a career around championing stories, creators, and the culture that keeps the medium moving forward. He is currently Senior Editor for the new iteration of the legendary Heavy Metal magazine, working on titles such as Taarna, Millstone, Gladiatrix, Ink, Bug, and more.
Before joining Heavy Metal, Chris worked with major names including Titan Comics and Eaglemoss Hero Collector, further strengthening his experience across publishing, licensing, collectibles, and pop culture storytelling. His work also includes collaborations with Bloomsbury, Cosmic Lion Productions, The Lab Press, and his role as an occasional lecturer at the Scuola Del Fumetto, the School of Comics in Palermo.
His journey has taken him to comic and art festivals across four continents, giving him a unique international perspective on the comics industry, its creative communities, and the evolving relationship between fans, publishers, creators, and retailers.
