Kitba Queer is a project started by We Are – LGBTQQI Youth and Student Organisation. In 2018, The project was supported by Arts Council Malta – Creative Communities. Kitba Queer aims to fill the void in the lack of visibility and good representation in fiction that queer communities face in the Maltese Islands. During 2018, several workshops, mingle & create sessions, a live-in and social and fundraising activities took place with the aim to form a community, learn and practice, whilst simultaneously promoting the project. The outcome of the project was the first queer fiction anthology by queer people in Malta. Donations made from the first anthology will go towards producing the second anthology, which will happen in 2020.
