Neil O’Driscoll is an illustrator and filmmaker from Ireland. After (a bit of) animation training in Ballyfermot, Dublin, he went on to study crafts in Co. Kilkenny, then film in Edinburgh College of Art. These days he does things such as illustrating independent Irish comic Big Bastard, creating visuals for stage shows and making films over very long periods of time. He lives in Dublin, and will bring issue 1 of his own comic, Gate, to Malta Comic Con.
Gate is about a teenage girl growing up in a quaint, beautiful, hideously boring village, whose one claim to fame is having once hosted a serial killer rampage. As she traverses the rocky road of youth and deals with school, unpleasant pensioners and preachy hippies, things get weird in the background…
Hugo Salgado is a graduate of art and fashion design, with a keen eye and steady hand, no doubt due to his years as a monk, when he used to play the flute a lot. These days, his dexterity is used for colouring pages and embroidering scenes from Mario Bros.
