Titan Comics are pleased to announce The Illuminati Ball – myth meets mystery in an unforgettable graphic novel about power, cruelty, deceit, betrayal, and insatiable hunger for freedom.

This October, author and visual artist Cynthia von Buhler – collaborator on projects with Steven Spielberg, Neil Gaiman and Clive Barker, and the creative talent behind Titan’s smash-hit Minky Woodcock: The Girl Who Handcuffed Houdini – brings her hit immersive theater production The Illuminati Ball to the page in an all-new hardback graphic novel!

Described as Eyes Wide Shut crossed with The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Illuminati Ball candidates crave power, love, money, respect, fame – that which eludes them. Their enigmatic host, known only as Pig King, craves something more basic: salvation for his kind. But an Illuminati Ball requires a sacrifice…

Inspired by leaked photos from the Baron and Baroness de Rothschild’s legendary 1972 fete, which drew elaborately masked guests such as Salvador Dali and Audrey Hepburn to the powerful couple’s mansion in France, von Buhler’s graphic novel merges elements of the iconic party with science to create a world filled with myth, mystery and animal-human hybrids.

“The characters in the graphic novel are fanciful, but I assure you, the science is real. Spider cows and pig humans are among us. Read this story and discover the light of scientific truth,” says Cynthia von Buhler.

For the past four years, Cynthia von Buhler and her Speakeasy Dollhouse team have been holding mysterious Illuminati Balls varying in size from intimate excursions with thirty guests to elaborate fetes for a thousand.

This year, on October 4th and New Year’s Eve, the Speakeasy Dollhouse are presenting the ball, based on von Buhler’s new graphic novel, as an experience which is both intimate and expansive. All guests must apply at theilluminatiball.com and be accepted before they are allowed to purchase tickets. The address of The Temple, which is located in Manhattan, is given after purchasing.

Attendees (aka “candidates”) will be invited to take part in esoteric ritual ceremonies featuring eclectic music, provocative dance, daring performances, intrigue, and morality tests unfolding continuously across three floors of interactive rooms.

Speakeasy Dollhouse is the most prolific creator of immersive theater in New York City having staged six hit plays, The Bloody Beginning (The Back Room), The Brothers Booth(The Players Club), Ziegfeld Midnight Frolic (Liberty Theater), The Girl Who Handcuffed Houdini (Theatre 80), The Illuminati Ball Immersive Excursion (Secret Location), and The Illuminati Ball New York City (Weylin) in the last eight years.

The Illuminati Ball graphic novel (HC, FC, 88pp, $29.99) by Cynthia von Buhler is set to debut at this year’s New York Comic Con and then hit comic shops and bookstores on October 16, 2019.
