Vincenzo Balzano

Vincenzo Balzano (b. 1985, Italy) is a comic book artist and illustrator whose work blends fine art sensitivity with the power of graphic storytelling. Trained in Graphic Arts and Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, he quickly established his unique visual language through watercolor, ink, and digital mixed media, balancing traditional craftsmanship with contemporary techniques.

His career has developed internationally, with publications for leading publishers such as Marvel, Dupuis, Ankama, and BOOM! Studios. Among his most notable works are Revenge: The Secret Origin of Emily Thorne (Marvel), Clinton Road, Adlivun, and Bunkerville (Ankama). Currently, he is adapting the French novel Le Démon de la colline aux loups for Dupuis/Aire Libre, scheduled for release in 2026.

Balzano’s work has been exhibited in Europe and the United States, including San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic Con, Festival d’Angoulême, Saint-Malo’s Quai des Bulles, and major Italian festivals. His original pages are currently showcased at Achetez de l’Art galleries in Paris and Bordeaux.

Beyond publishing, he is an active educator, collaborating with institutions and cultural events. He regularly holds workshops in Europe on visual storytelling, drawing, and digital coloring. In September 2025, he will be a featured guest at The Big Draw Festival in the Netherlands, where he will lead workshops combining traditional and digital techniques.

Balzano’s practice is deeply influenced by cinema, literature, and photography. His illustrations often explore themes of identity, memory, and the human relationship with nature, rendered in a style that is both expressive and cinematic.
With a strong social media presence and a growing international audience, Vincenzo Balzano continues to expand the boundaries between comics, fine art, and illustration, establishing himself as a distinctive voice in contemporary visual storytelling.
