Andy has worked as a comic writer and inker for over 35 years.
He’s probably best known for writing the “Guardians of the Galaxy” comic series that became the basis for the breakout hit film for Marvel Studios in 2014, which has spawned two successful sequels in 2017 and 2023, respectively. His writing credits also include Resurrection Man, The Legion of Superheroes, Superman/Batman and The Authority for DC Comics, Nova, The Punisher, The Avengers and New Mutants for Marvel Comics.
Recently, Andy has written several comic series, including a 120-page graphic novel based on Twilight Imperium, the best-selling board game series, Project Superheroes: Fractured States, for Dynamite Comics, and Endless Winter, a crossover series for DC Comics.
Andy is also a celebrated inker, working with some of the biggest artists in comics and is best known for his work on Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, The Justice League, The X-Men, The Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Thor, Iron Man and the Secret Service comic series, which was made into the box office smash, The Kingsmen, 2014. He recently inked the 8-issue mini-series, DCeased: The Undead Gods, for DC Comics.
Post-pandemic, Andy co-founded Ideas&Inks with long-time collaborator Ant Williams. The studio aims to help companies develop and expand their creative IPs utilising comic book storytelling, character and worldbuilding to form a coherent, solid storyworld across multiple platforms and media.
In whatever spare time he has, Andy likes to play soccer, padel and video games, spend time with his family, walk his dogs and write cringy biographies in the third person!
