When I was a kid I was never impressed by this comic”s promotion. I thought this was a cheap gimmick or some kind of joke. I mean the answer was quite obvious to me at the time so why should I be bothered. Still I was curious and after all, if the story was not good, at least there was still the artwork by the great Neal Adams. The story is great and not only about a boxing match, but also about humanity, aliens and team work. Dennis O”Neil crafted an interesting story that respects the fictional characters and actual persons while pitching these two iconographic figures competing to save the earth from an alien threat. The combination of writing and art gives us a genuine, social and realistic approach to Muhammad Ali”s character in contrast with the DC universe. This is truly a piece of history one needs to own in his comic collection!
