The mission of the Wargaming And Role-Playing Society (W.A.R.S.) is to promote tabletop gaming while fostering a sense of community. People of all ages from various walks of life share their hobbies when meeing at our premises in Floriana which offers space for tabletop generals to test their strategies, rooms dedicated to role-playing or board games and a common room for gatherings.
Wargaming interests span from classic fantasy and custom sci-fi to the historically accurate. Members are encouraged to explore new systems and settings and to discover classics Players rely on strategic thinking and a pinch of luck, and creativity as participants present their own miniature armies.
Role-playing is the second pillar of the WARS Community. These games are limited only by the participants’ imagination. This immersive story-telling pursuit requires players to think outside the box, often propelling participants into fantastic settings, from the courts of medieval Europe to the Neon Cityscapes of Martian Cities.
Boardgames also enjoy much popularity. W.A.R.S. was the first to locally hold open board game days offering to share an ever-growing boardgame library and allowing for participants to bring their own.
One of the latest endeavours is the Books and Boardgames Circle. Literature enthusiasts meet to discuss their latest reading over a game, often finding connections between game lore and literature.
A non-profit society that is run by gamers for gamers, W.A.R.S. has been a highly respected entity by tabletop game enthusiasts for decades and strives to remain a hub for all tabletop hobbyists.
